Magnus Svanfeldt is releasing “Nordic Noir”, a dark album, filled with losses, love, friendship, faith and joy.
We experience grief and illness or we are forced to flee for our lives. Nevertheless, we always look forward. We are on our way. We are not turning around. It is in our nature.
His way of singing is in a long tradition of Swedish (and American) singer-songwriters with forced expression.
Magnus Svanfeldt describes “what happened in Sweden last night” to quote a leading US politician:
“Early morning, the mosque has graffiti on the door
Broken glass lies on the floor
Early morning, a junkie lies in a public loo
In his blood and in his spew”
But he continues:
“Stockholm is mine, with pubs and restaurants and dines”
